7 Fun Places in Phuket for Kids

Parents are always on the lookout for kid-friendly activities that will limit screen time. If you’re looking for fun things to do with kids (and kids at heart), we’ve got a nice list of places to visit this weekend that are easily reachable from your Phuket home.

Fun Places for Kids in Phuket

1. Phuket Trickeye Museum

Located on Phang Nga Road, Phuket Trickeye Museum is a great place to visit on a rainy day. Tickets can be a bit on the pricey side but well worth it if you haven’t been here yet. This museum is a big hit for kids and they usually have fun taking photos with all the different scenes. You can allot about an hour or two if this is just part of an itinerary for the day. There are about 100 painted and sculpted scenes and each one is sure to amaze and get a laugh out of the kids. Take note that they have a ‘no shoes’ rule and that the stairs can get a bit slippery.

2. Surf House Phuket

Fun for Kids and Big Kids at Surf House

If your kids haven’t surfed yet but they’d love to try, an hour or two at Surf House Phuket is a great way to start learning. Everything’s padded and the instructors are great with kids, so it’s definitely a kid-friendly way to learn how to surf. If you’re not in the mood to surf, just watch. They’ve got a nice bar with lots of snacks on the menu.

3. Splash Jungle Water Park

Family Fun at Splash Water Park

If you have fond memories of Disney water parks as a kid and want the children to experience something similar, Splash Jungle Water Park in Mai Khao Beach is the place to go. It’s the only water park in the area and although it’s not as big as other water parks, it’s a great place to spend a day with the kids. If you’ve got young children with you, the fact that they’ve got fewer rides is going to be appealing because you’re not going to tire yourself out just to try each and every ride. There are professional staff and lifeguards in all areas of the park, which is an added bonus if you’ve got small children with you.

4. Dino Park Mini Golf

Playing mini golf is a great way to develop hand-eye coordination and focus. If you’ve got children who love either dinosaurs or golf, then take them to Dino Park Mini Golf for a fun day out. Even if you don’t know how to play golf, the park is a great place to explore with kids. Just be mindful of other families who actually want to play the game! Located at Kata Beach, Dino Park is a must-visit if you want a fun few hours with the kids. Depending on the day, queues can get long, but they’re bearable. The dinosaurs are really fun to check out, even if you don’t know anything about golf.

5. The Kids Club Phuket

The Kids Club Phuket is a popular place for parents with young children because you can drop your kids off and enjoy a few hours of ‘me time’ without any worries. The Kids Club has a wide range of activities for babies and kids, but more importantly, the on-site nannies are absolutely fabulous and professional. If your children haven’t experienced being left alone with a nanny, this is a great place to just try it out for a change. After all, moms and dads deserve a few hours of peace and quiet, right?

There are lots of attractions here, including slides, crawl tubes, swings, climbing walls, trampolines, and ball pits. The place is super clean and very secure. Highly recommended.

6. Patong Go-Kart Speedway

If you want to pump up the adrenaline, head to Patong Go-Kart Speedway. It’s a safe and family-friendly place, but it’s definitely most appropriate for older children. Take note that children cannot ride alone and need to have adult supervision to be on the safe side. The kids’ karts average about 40 km/hr so it’s not going to be incredibly fast, but the speed is fast enough for fun. The owners and staff take their guests’ safety very seriously so you’ll have a fun day out with no worries.

7. Rollerball Zorbing Phuket

Zorbing is a Great Hit with Small and Big Kids

If you’re not familiar, think adult hamster ball. A Zorb is composed of two orbs of flexible, transparent plastic (a small one inside a large one) and Zorbing is considered an extreme (and offbeat) sport. If you’ve got older children (think teens or incredibly adventurous preteens) with you and they want something truly exhilarating, a day spent at Rollerball Zorbing is definitely one for the books. Located on the hills overlooking Kalim Beach, Zorb enthusiasts can roll down a 190-meter track while enjoying the views.
